Beauty Care Products You Make At Home
Bath Oils:
Mix the ingredients of the following recipes in a glass bowl or ceramic
bowl and let cure overnight:
When you need soothing try this oil:
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups almond oil
- 4 to 5 drops of lavender essential oil
- 3 drops of rose essential oil
- contents of 4 to 5 vitamin E capsules
But when you feel the need for stimulation try this oil:
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups soy oil
- 4 to 5 drops of jasmine essential oil
- 3 drops of juniper essential oil
- contents of 4 to 5 vitamin E capsules
More bath oils:
Materials:
- Your favorite carrier oil (Almond, Grapeseed etc.)
- Your favorite essential oils (mix two or three of your favorites
-- Rose, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang make a great combination)
- Add five drops each of five drops each of your favorite essential
oils to about one cup of carrier oil.
- Then pour it into an attractive bottle.
Jamine and Rose-scented Bath Salt
Materials:
- rose petals
- Jasmine petals
- coarse sea salt
- rose essential oil
- Jasmine essential oil
- bergamot essential oil
- Put rose and jasmine petals in a blender.
- Add the ground petals to sea salt, then several drops of rose, jasmine
and bergamot essential oils.
Bubble Bath
Materials:
- unscented soap (clear shampoo)
- glycerin (available at most drug stores)
- Your favorite essential oil and corresponding food coloring
- Begin with a clear liquid soap.
- Add a few drops of glycerin, essential oil and food coloring.
- For a personal touch, decorate a glass bottle with raffia, ribbons
or decals.
Want to try making your own perfumes? Try this:
Perfumes are concentrated fragrances. Their scent will last a long time.
Simply add 1 teaspoon of fragrance oil (any fragrance) to 1/4 cup 100-proof
vodka. Shake well.
Making Colognes:
Colognes provide you with a milder fragrance than perfumes. To make
them, mix 1/2 teaspoon fragrance oil with 1/4 cup 100-proof vodka. Shake
well.
Splish-Splash after taking your bath:
After-bath splashes are wonderfully refreshing to use when you get out
of the tub or any time you desire just a light hint of fragrance. Simply
combine the following ingredients in a bottle and shake well:
- 1/2 cup 100-proof vodka
- 1/2 teaspoon fragrance oil
- 1 tablespoon glycerin
- 1 drop food coloring (optional)
Dusting Powder is so easy to make:
This lightly fragranced dusting powder is the perfect touch after a bath.
Cornstarch helps absorb excess moisture and leaves the skin feeling smooth.
Materials:
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon of finished perfume (see recipe above)
- Place cornstarch in a small bowl and add perfume, one drop at a time.
- Stir with a fork until lumps are crushed out.
- Let powder sit in the open for a few hours and then re-stir to remove
any lumps.
- Try running the powder through a flour sifter to get out all lumps.
- Powder should be kept in a sealed container.
