Mehru mini-FAQ:

Linda's Ahmad henna'd hair -- Mehru cocoa on her lipsWhat is Mehru?

Merhu is a transparent gel that leaves a matte natural look to your lips and skin. One application leaves a natural stain. Two to three applications creates an opaque stain as shown in the pictures above. In the picture at right, Linda has used Mehru in cocoa on her lips.

How long does it last?

Mehru on lips has lasted on some people 18 to 24 hours. The other extreme is about 6. The demise appears to come when a person eats something greasy. Grease in food seems to break it down more quickly. You can have it on and drink from a white cup and no stain is left behind. So once it has set...meaning when it has completely dried (1 to 4 minutes) it should be set for the day. Average time is about 12 hours. And that I find is because we all have these hygiene habits like brushing our teeth that causes us to wipe and rub at the lips. Mehru will stay on other body parts for up to a week. I have never tested it longer than that. I got tired of protecting it from the soap when I showered. After 15 to 24 hours, you should be able to wash Mehru off from lips and other skin with soap and water and it should come off without scrubbing hard. But skin being what it is...there are some variations from person to person. So I always have to talk in ranges. When I apply Mehru in the morning on my lips and eyelids, I can go through the day and not reapply. If I am going someplace special that evening, I might refresh it or apply another color on top to get a different color. Please note: The colors your monitor displays may be different from the actual product color.)
